Goals and activities

AP3 was founded in 2010 with the goal to support companies in the control of information and information flows related to product development. Out activities consist of support in the definition of requirements, selection of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and CAD systems, implementation, configuration and daily support.

Our focus area is the information processing for product development with specialism in the following areas:

  • The Product Generation Proces - PGP
The overall process for the creation of a product from idea to dismantling.
  • The Product Creation Proces - PCP
The specific process for product development, consisting of the definition of specifications, requirements, defining detail specifications and test- and acceptance protocols. This also contains the transition from ad-hoc change management in a prototype development stage to the formal change process starting with first (limited) production.
  • Product Lifecycle Management - PLM
The concepts and way-of-working for storage, management, access, reporting and secure access of the information that is created in the PGP and more specifically the PCP process. More detailed information about PLM can be found in the PLM menu.
  • Computer Aided Design - CAD
Specific design systems for detailing product designs, more often in 3D nowadays.

All assignments are executed in principe - dependent on customer requirements and specific assignments - based on the methods of Prince II. This guarantees a clear approach with description of the assignment and scope definition to prevent unclarities and limit the amount of risk involved. A continuous check using progress- and budget reports ensure a clear overview of project state and provide the posibility to make early corrections.

Our approach is to execute projects of a temporary nature that realise solutions which are transferred to the standing organisation and the end of the project. Through a default way-of-working of inventory, solution proposals, implementation, verification and transfer you as customer have the ability to change requirements or direction at critical stages.
